Miss Saeralyn
We Born and raised in Palmer, Saeralyn Baskett has been a part of the Alaskan Dance Community for over two decades. She began dance training at the age of three, her repertoire includes Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Modern, Contemporary, Musical Theater, Dance Acrobatics, and Competitive Gymnastics. Miss Saeralyn started teaching in 2016. She loves teaching many styles to various ages, but mostly enjoys the structure and grace of Ballet.
Saeralyn is passionate about seeing the Dance Community continue to grow in the Valley. In addition to Directing Competitive Dance Teams she has Danced, Taught, and Directed at many different studios in Alaska, including Joy of Dance AK, Dancers Workshop, Anchorage Classical Ballet Academy, Mat-Valley Dance, and now Wasilla Music and Dance Center!
Whether it’s your First Ballet Class, or your Fiftieth Jazz Class, you’re sure to enjoy classes with Miss Saeralyn this Season!
Miss Judy
We want to welcome Judy McCreary to Wasilla Music & Dance Center! Judy brought her dance teaching experience and her love of dance to Alaska when she moved to Wasilla. Judy has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ohio State University.
When Judy lived in Ohio, she taught dance & gymnastics classes at busy dance studios including Mason Dance Center, CHCA Dance Academy and Hyde Park Gymnastics & Dance. She also worked as a Dance Director, overseeing all the aspects of a busy dance program including choreography, class management, group & individual instruction, and performance planning.
Judy enjoys teaching all types of dance, especially Ballet, Jazz and Tap; she’s even known to “bust a few Hip Hop moves” for the little ones:). Speaking of the “littles”, Judy has extensive experience teaching Introduction to Dance & Movement Classes. We are excited to have Judy at WMDC, and we know our students will learn so much from her and enjoy her classes!
Miss Jessica
Jessica McDonnell is an ISI Professional Member, USFS Member, and Professional
PSA Member. She began teaching Learn to Skate in February 2019 at Curtis D. Menard
Memorial Sports Center and began coaching private lessons in the fall of 2019 . Jessica
is a co-coach with the competitive group, On Ice AK, which travels around the state and
even out of state to compete.
Jessica has over 12 years of competitive figure skating and coaching experience;
testing through Freestyle 8 in ISI and Preliminary Figures & Freeskate in USFS. She
has completed the Basic/Core and Intermediate/High ISI Instructor Training Program, is
an ISI Certified Gold Level Judge, PSA Basic Accreditation, SafeSport Certified, and
holds a certification from ISSA as a Youth Fitness Coach.
We are excited to have Jessica offer an “off ice” conditioning class for all the skaters out
there! Many of you already know Jessica because she has worked at WMDC since
2019:)
Miss Allie
We are starting the new year off by welcoming teacher, Allie Nadon to our dance
program! Allie has been dancing since she was 3 years old. She competed in dance
and gymnastics competitions up through her high school years. Allie participated in the
University of Kentucky's dance program. After college, she loved teaching dance
classes in her hometown in Ohio.
Allie is passionate about teaching kids of all abilities and creating a fun and inclusive
environment where dancers can learn and grow together through dance. Allie lives in
Wasilla and for the past two years she has worked with individuals with intellectual
disabilities to help them reach new goals and learn new skills.
Her favorite dance genres are Hip Hop, Modern, and Jazz. Allie enjoys dancing
alongside students and exploring different elements of dance as she teaches!
